Along Cast
Terms of Use
Last updated 10 July 2026
The short version. Along Cast is a planning aid. Forecasts and road reports can be wrong, late, or incomplete — always judge actual conditions yourself and follow the road authorities. Keep your eyes on the road, not the app. The beta is provided as-is and may change or break while we build it.
What Along Cast is (and isn’t)
- Along Cast shows forecasts and third-party road reports placed on a route. It is informational only — it is not turn-by-turn navigation, not a safety system, and not a substitute for official guidance or your own judgment of the road.
- Weather forecasts are predictions; road events, traffic, and camera images come from third-party sources and may be delayed, missing, or inaccurate. Never rely on the app as your only reason to start, continue, or delay a drive.
- When you open a plan in Apple Maps, Along Cast transfers the endpoints and travel mode. Apple Maps recalculates its own route, so the route it presents may differ from the route Along Cast evaluated.
- Use the app only when it’s safe and legal to do so. Set up your trip before you leave, and let passengers handle the phone while driving.
Beta software
Along Cast is distributed as a beta through Apple TestFlight, and Apple’s TestFlight terms apply alongside these. Beta builds are works in progress: features may change, misbehave, or disappear between builds, service may be interrupted, and we may end or reset the beta at any time.
The service
- The app fetches weather and road data through the Along Cast backend. We aim to keep it available but make no uptime promise, and we may throttle, change, or discontinue the service.
- Don’t abuse the service — no scraping, reselling, probing, or attempting to disrupt it, and don’t use the app in violation of applicable law.
- Data sources are credited on our Privacy page; their content belongs to their respective providers.
Sharing a drive
- Sharing a drive creates a public web page at a link that anyone who has the link can open, without the app. You decide whether and with whom to share, and you’re responsible for who you send a link to and for what it reveals about your plans or, in a live share, your location.
- Share only your own drives. Don’t use sharing — especially live location — to track, surveil, or harass anyone, and don’t share on someone else’s behalf without their agreement. We coarsen your start and end and stop live sharing automatically, but a shared link still conveys real information about a trip.
- You can revoke any link at any time in Settings → Shared drives, and links expire on their own after 7 days. Revocation stops the link and scrubs its location-bearing payload and cached map; expired records are deleted by service maintenance. We can’t recall a page someone has already opened, cached, or saved.
No warranty, limited liability
The app and the service are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app — including decisions made based on forecasts or road information shown in it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Privacy
How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy. In short: no accounts, no tracking, anonymized short-lived logs, and a drive is stored on our backend only when you choose to share it (with your start and end blurred, an expiry, and a one-tap revoke).
Changes
If these terms change, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence are unaffected.
