Using Along Cast

Along Cast is provided by Mark Pasternak. For questions about these terms, email support@alongcast.com.

Along Cast provides weather forecasts and third-party road information along a planned route. It is a planning aid. Forecasts are predictions; road reports and camera images can be delayed, missing, or inaccurate.

Use actual conditions, official guidance, and your own judgment when deciding whether to travel. Along Cast is not an emergency or safety service. An absence of warnings is not an assurance that a route is safe.

Plan while parked and interact with the app only when it is safe and lawful. Along Cast does not provide turn-by-turn navigation. If you open a journey in Apple Maps, Apple Maps calculates its own route from the endpoints and travel mode, which may differ from the route you reviewed.

The beta & service availability

The current Along Cast beta is free and distributed through Apple TestFlight. Apple’s TestFlight terms also apply to beta distribution and testing.

Beta features can change, fail, or be removed. Builds expire, data may need to be reset, and access to the beta may end. The website previews the next beta candidate; the build available in TestFlight may have fewer features or look different.

Fresh forecasts, routes, and server features need connectivity and available providers. The service can apply usage limits or be temporarily unavailable. We do not promise continuous availability or a particular response time.

Reminders & trip monitoring

A departure reminder is scheduled for a time you choose. It does not establish that current conditions were checked.

Where offered, trip monitoring requires a separate opt-in. It checks selected route checkpoints before departure for material weather changes and, on Swedish driving trips, nearby road reports. It does not continuously track conditions, automatically reroute you, or update your arrival estimate.

Checks and notifications depend on provider availability, service limits, permissions, connectivity, and iOS delivery. An absent alert is not proof of unchanged or safe conditions. Check the app’s status and source times before travelling. See monitoring and notification help.

Stop monitoring from the upcoming trip. Cancellation takes effect when received by the server; an offline request may remain pending. Notifications already handed to Apple may still arrive.

Sharing responsibly

A shared drive creates a page that anyone with its link can open and forward. Share your own journeys, and obtain agreement before sharing someone else’s plans or location. Do not use sharing to track, harass, or surveil a person without their agreement.

Coarsening the endpoints reduces precision; it does not make a trip anonymous. Live position, progress, and recap information can be delayed, approximate, or interrupted. Do not use a shared page as proof of arrival or for emergency decisions.

Links expire seven days after creation. To end access sooner, use Settings → Shared drive links → Revoke link and wait for server confirmation. Stopping live updates alone can leave the page and recap available. We cannot recall copies someone has already saved.

Fair use & provider content

Use the app and service lawfully. Do not attempt unauthorized access, bypass usage limits, interfere with another person’s data, disrupt the service, or redistribute provider data without the necessary rights.

Forecasts, maps, reports, and images remain subject to their providers’ rights and applicable terms. Keep source attributions intact. See the provider list.

If you find a security problem, report it privately with enough detail to investigate. Do not include someone else’s personal data or continue an action that could expose or damage it.

Availability & your legal rights

The beta is provided as available. We cannot guarantee forecast accuracy, complete road coverage, uninterrupted service, or notification delivery. You remain responsible for travel decisions and safe, lawful use of your device.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Mandatory consumer protections continue to apply.

Your data

The Privacy Policy explains location requests, device registration, usage and stability telemetry, and information stored when you choose sharing or available trip monitoring. Along Cast does not require an account, but service records can be linked to the same app installation.

You can manage telemetry, permissions, monitoring, and shared links separately. Removing the app or disabling notifications does not itself revoke a link or immediately remove server records.

Changes & applicable law

If these terms change, the revised terms and date will appear on this page. Changes do not remove rights you have under mandatory law.

Swedish law governs these terms, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.
